sizes 2 through 7 and not less than 3 0 feet long for positioner sizes 8
through 16. The pendant control c a b l e for class B positioners sizes 1a, lb
and 3 shall be not less than 7 feet long, and not less than 15 feet long for
positioners 2 and 4. The pendant control unit for each positioner shall have
t h e following controls:
a . Table direction of rotation-forward, off, reverse
selector switch.
b. Table rotation-start and stop buttons.
c. Table rotation-rapid traverse button.
d. Table rotational speed potentiometer.
e. Table tilt forward and reverse buttons
(for class A positioners only).
3.5 Size and capacity. U n l e s s otherwise specified (see 6.2), the size
and capacity of the positioner shall meet the requirements of table 1 or II
s p e c i f i e d . P o s i t i o n e r class, size and
f o r the class and size positioner
capacity shall be not less than the stated requirements of the size ordered.
When a range is given, the required performance s h a l l be from the stated
minimum or less to the stated maximum or greater.
3 . 5 . 1 Physical size limitations. When specified (see 6.2.), the physical
s i z e o f t h e p o s i t i o n e r s h a l l not e x c e e d the height, width, and length
r e s t r i c t i o n s specified by the procuring activity to ensure the machine will
f i t in its future operating location.
3.6 Table speed accuracy requirements. Table speed for class A or
B
p o s i t i o n e r shall be accurate within the requirements specified in 3.4.3.1.
3.7 Performance. The positioner shall be capable of rotating and tilting
as specified in table I or II for the type and
capacity workpiece loads
size machine specified. Sizes 2 through 6a of class A positioners shall be
c a p a b l e of rotating and tilting capacity loads specified in table I with the
center of gravity of the workpiece located 6 inches above the table and 6
inches eccentricity from the rotation center. Sizes 7 through 16 of class A
positioners shall be capable of rotating and tilting capacity loads specified
in table I with the center of gravity of the workpiece located 12 inches above
t h e table and 12 inches eccentricity from the rotation center. Class B
positioners shall be capable of rotating and tilting capacity loads specified
in table II with the center of gravity of the workpiece and eccentricity from
the rotation center as specified.
3.7.1 Additional performance requirements. Performance features required
in addition to, or in l i e u of,
he requirements herein shall be as specified
and fully described (see 6.2).
3.8 Standard equipment. All standard equipment normally provided with
the manufacturer's commercial positioner shall be furnished.
